An Abbott Bio

"Well i was borned a poor black child in the mountains of alamabama."... is how Andrew Laws-Danaher, lead singer and guitarist for Abbot, introduces himself. This, of coarse, is NOT true, but makes for a nice ice breaker.

Andrew Laws-Danaher, a sophomore from Yukon High School has been playing guitar since 2003. He decided he wanted to take piano lessons at a young age, to better his chances with the feminine sex. His dad told him that piano wasn't mobile enough to play at parties, so he chose guitar. Thanks, Dad, for the insight on how to better pick up on chicks. What a dad.

After being nominated by some very influential people to transfer from El Reno High school to Yukon High School in 2005, Laws-Danaher met Joe Woodward, now Abbott's bass player, and pooled drummer Kalen Koehler to begin the adventure called Abbott.

Abbott's drummer, Kalen Koehler, an 18 year old Senior at El Reno High School has been playing drums since the 8th grade. He actively participates in his High School Band, being featured as lead snare in the El Reno drumline and has taken 1st in state snare competitions.

Kalen's inspirations are Tommy Lee, Travis Barker, Mitch Mitchell, John Bonham, Dave Grohl and Chad Smith. In order to emulate these drummers' power and creativity, Koehler routinely practices in excess of six hours nightly.

The Man of Bass for Abbott is a Junior from Yukon High School, Joe Woodward. Having started playing bass in 2002, Woodward cut his teeth playing bass and drums in his brother's band. Woodward moved from Punk to Ska and now incorporates a misxure of styles in the music of Abbott.
